Hello from Tallahassee

Yep, we are still here. We are doing well. Brian went back on Saturday and Micah and I are waiting to hear about our clearance to leave. I think we are on the way to making some progress in that area. We heard that our fingerprints cleared. Now we are waiting for an addendum to be written for our homestudy updating the date of our FBI clearance. Then hopefully we will be cleared by Florida by tomorrow and they will overnight our package to Alabama and we will be cleared by Alabama Wednesday or Thursday. Micah and I are so ready to be home. We love the Ronald McDonald House and we will forever be grateful to them for sure. Please support your local Ronald McDonald House Charity.

Brian and I can't wait to share this little guy with everyone. See you all soon!

Micah Henry Terrell

Ok so I know a lot of people are wanting to know how all this happened. I ask myself the same thing. How can this sweet boy be mine after less than 48 hours. Yep it was fast!

So I would like to write more on all this but I will give you a quick timeline and then this girl is going to try to get a little sleep while he is sleeping...

Tuesday February 1st
1:30 - got a call about him and asked if I would be interested. I said sure and left it at that. When there are offers like this you just have to choose how much you are going to throw yourself in that early. I knew the baby was already born so I knew it would be a fast turn around if it happened. I knew the baby was somewhere in Florida. The social worker said she might know something later that night or the next morning.

2:30 - they want my homestudy

6:30 - Brian and I are at our Core group at the church. I get a call in the middle and ran out to answer it. I knew it was a yes or a no. It was a YES! So then I had to go back in the room and be quiet for about 30 min until everyone had finished. (Of course i smiled at Brian and he knew). So we told our Core group so they could be praying and excused ourselves from the rest of our meeting.

We have to run home, print off a contract sign it and go fax it back so a lady could pass off our information so eventually we could talk to the birthmom that night. So off we went. I talked to 4 women plus the social worker.

8:30 - we finally have the chance to call family. Everyone is excited. And we begin to make plans to leave the next night. Brian had to write a test and plans for his class so he could be gone all next week.

11:00 - I try to go to bed...yeah right.

Wednesday February 2nd

I got up ealry packed a quick suitcase, ran to Wal Mart and grabbed a few essentials and ran home and started a load of clothes and such. I went to work. While at work I am trying to talk to the bank, I need to go to the bank, the post office, Lifeline, the Summitt, take the dogs to the vet, stop by a friends house for a few things.

At this point it is nearing 6:00pm and Brian is still not home and he has packed NOTHING! He gets home, throws a suitcase together and by 7:15 we are out the door. Our first stop...Babys R Us...One travel system, one pack n play, and a few things extra.

8:00pm we are on the road for good.

2:00am eastern time we are in Tallahassee, at a hotel and of course we have to put together some things, read some papers, fill out some papers.

4:00am once again try to sleep...once again yeah right

6:00am we are up

9:00 we are at the attorneys office

by 10:00 am we have the baby in our hands.

we got to meet the birthmother, she is so sweet. (more on that later)

then around 12 noon we headed to the hospital to get the Billi Rubin checked again and then we needed some lunch and then we were headed to the Ronald McDonald House to stay.

Oh my goodness he is so wonderful. Sleeping peacefully at the moment. We'll see how long that lasts. Ok I am going to try to put a picture up. If not check facebook.

Thanks for all the prayers and offers...we can't wait to get back and show off this handsome baby boy.
Love you all
Brian and Liz
